We prepare the data.
You stay the operator.

Get your product information ready for Digital Product Passports. We help identify the relevant requirements, gather supplier information and structure the data. Passport preparation is available now; our hosting platform is in development.

The problem

Bring your product data together

Useful product information may already be spread across test reports, supplier declarations, spreadsheets and business systems. Other information may still need to be collected or created.

The Commission’s preparatory studies for steel and textile apparel describe challenges with fragmented information, document-based exchange and data from upstream suppliers.

We start by mapping what you have, where it comes from and what is missing. The aim is a structured set of product data, with evidence and assumptions clearly recorded.

What we actually do

  • Work out what applies

Review your product groups, relevant rules and confirmed or indicative dates.

  • Map the information

Compare available data with adopted requirements and clearly identified proposals where final rules are pending.

  • Prepare the passport data

Structure product information and prepare identifiers and EN 18220 conformant QR carriers within the agreed scope.

  • Plan registration

Identify the information and operator steps needed for the applicable registration process. Registration is not included in our current service.

  • Plan data updates

Agree who will maintain the records and how future changes will be documented.

Supplier information can take time to obtain. We help organise the requests and track missing evidence, but availability depends on the information your suppliers hold and can share.

The preparation studies highlight gaps in areas such as recycled content and upstream traceability. Software can help organise the work; it cannot create missing evidence.

The boundary

How we share the work

We help with preparation. You retain the responsibilities that apply to you as an economic operator. Hosting and registration on your behalf are not part of our current offer.

Task Who does it
Scoping Us, with you. Identify relevant products, rules and dates.
Data collection Us, with your authorisation. Request supplier information and organise the responses.
Structuring Us. Organise the data and check its structure against the agreed requirements.
Identifiers Us, within the agreed scope. Prepare suitable identifiers and EN 18220 conformant QR carriers.
Accuracy The responsible economic operator. We can check structure and consistency; the underlying product claims need supporting evidence.
Registry account Your organisation follows the applicable Registry enrolment and verification process. We can help you understand the preparation steps.
Signing or sealing The authorised person completes the required signing or sealing steps for your organisation.
Hosting Not available yet. The DPPVIEW hosting platform is in development.

We will update our offer when additional services are ready. No registration or hosting availability is promised here.

Registry verification

Becoming a verified economic operator

EU DPP Registry access involves an organisation verification process. The exact steps depend on the organisation type and the current Registry guidance.

We can help you plan for this as part of preparation. The Commission also provides a separate test environment, with its own verification requirements.

  1. Check the identification requirements

The Registry guidance distinguishes qualified electronic seals for legal persons and qualified electronic signatures for natural persons.

  2. Prepare your organisation details

Gather the legal name, address and identifiers accepted by the current Registry process.

  3. Follow the declaration process

Use the Registry guidance to request the declaration for your organisation.

  4. Complete signing or sealing

The authorised person signs or seals the declaration as required and returns it through the Registry.

  5. Keep verification current

Track the validity of the identification means and renew verification when required. Verified status is subject to a maximum period of three years.

What this service is not

  • Not a transfer of responsibility. The economic operator answers for the passport’s accuracy, whoever assembled it.

  • Registration is outside our current service. Any third-party role must follow the applicable law and Registry requirements.

  • The deliverable is prepared product data and a clear record of the remaining gaps. Live hosting is not included.

How it runs

What an engagement looks like

  • Scoping

Review your products, relevant legislation and the status of any dates or proposed requirements.

  • Gap analysis

Compare your existing information with the agreed preparation scope and record what is missing.

  • Supplier collection

Request the missing information and follow up. Timing depends on supplier responses and the evidence available.

  • Prepare and review

Structure the data, prepare the agreed identifiers and QR carriers, and review the remaining gaps.

  • Your review

You review the product claims, supporting evidence and any unresolved questions.

  • Plan the next stage

Agree what still needs to happen before publication. Our hosting platform is in development.

FAQ

See all questions

We do not have any of this data. Can you still help?

Yes. We start by checking what is already available in product records, reports and supplier documents. Then we identify what still needs to be requested, measured or created.

Can you register our passports with the EU for us?

That is not part of our current offer. We provide preparation support. Registry verification, registration and any delegated access must follow the applicable rules and the Commission’s current guidance.

Who is responsible if a supplier gives us wrong data?

The responsible economic operator retains its legal obligations. Our checks can identify structural gaps or inconsistencies, but they do not independently certify the truth of a supplier’s declaration.

How long does this take?

It depends on the product range, available data and supplier response times. We assess the scope with you and agree a realistic plan.

Do we need this if our product group has no date yet?

You can start with a proportionate review of existing data. We distinguish adopted requirements from proposals so you can avoid treating assumptions as final obligations.

How long will a passport need to stay available?

The applicable product rules determine the required period. ESPR does not impose a universal “product lifetime plus ten years” rule. Hosting terms will be published when our platform is ready.

Can we do the data work ourselves and just use your platform?

The platform is not available yet. You can prepare your own data or use our preparation service while hosting is in development.

Is there a certification for Digital Product Passport platforms?

Not yet. ESPR allows the Commission to set requirements for DPP service providers and, where appropriate, a certification scheme through a delegated act. That act has not been adopted and is expected between late 2026 and 2027. Today the formal reference point is the set of harmonised DPP standards cited in Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1736. Our conformance statement covers the QR data carrier (EN 18220) and does not certify the whole platform.
